Governor Peter Mbah‘s approval of a ₦183 billion road construction project has drawn accolades from Chief Jerry Onuokaibe, a respected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader. This endeavor promises to redefine Enugu State’s infrastructure, seamlessly linking urban centers and rural communities.

Chief Jerry Onuokaibe, helmsman of First Choice Afro Villa Ltd, expressed his unbridled enthusiasm in a statement, specifically highlighting the contract awards for the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara and Mburubu-Nkerefi roads as a masterstroke. His excitement was palpable as he praised the move, underscoring the transformative potential of these infrastructure projects.

According to Chief Onuokaibe, Governor Mbah’s approval of vital road projects last week is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the people’s welfare.

The chief executive noted that these projects, including the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara and Mburubu-Nkerefi roads, hold immense value for the community, reflecting the governor’s focus on improving the quality of life for all.

The Mburubu community, celebrated for its agricultural prowess, stands to gain significantly from the road project, according to Chief Onuokaibe. By facilitating the transportation of goods and services, the road will inject new life into the local economy, driving growth and prosperity.

“The Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara Road project holds immense significance for the people of Mburubu. This strategic infrastructure development will not only improve connectivity within our community, but also enhance access to neighbouring towns and markets. By bridging the gap between rural and urban areas, this project will stimulate economic activities, promote trade, and foster social integration.

“Governor Mbah’s dedication to infrastructural development is evident in the comprehensive nature of these projects. The dualisation of major roads, the construction of bridges, and the development of smart schools, are clear indicators of a visionary leadership committed to sustainable growth and improved living standards for all residents of Enugu State.

“The allocation of over N400 billion to capital expenditure in the 2024 budget, with a capital expenditure to budget ratio of over 80 percent, underscores the government’s focus on tangible, long-term investments. This prioritisation of infrastructure reflects a deep understanding of the critical role that roads and other public works play in driving economic development and social well-being.

“For the people of Mburubu, the construction of the Nomeh-Mburubu-Nara and Mburubu-Nkerefi Roads will be transformative. It will facilitate the efficient transportation of agricultural produce to markets, reduce travel time, and enhance access to essential services such as healthcare and education. These roads will be lifelines, fostering opportunities for business and improving the overall quality of life.

“We are confident that the improved road infrastructure will attract further investments into Mburubu and its surrounding areas. This influx of investment will lead to job creation, increased productivity, and enhanced socio-economic stability for our people. The ripple effects of such development cannot be overstated.”
