The Edda Elders Council in Ebonyi State has vehemently denounced the cold-blooded murder of a soldier in the Amangwu axis. The council’s swift and decisive response underscores the gravity of the situation, as the community grapples with the aftermath of the senseless attack.
On Thursday, the Edda Elders’ Council leadership – comprising Chairman Livinus Irem and Secretary Chief John Emegha – issued a statement to newsmen in Abakaliki, decrying the senseless violence at the military base and describing the incident as a tragic and regrettable loss.
According to the statement: “The people of Edda condemn in its entirety the barbaric act that is strange to our core values and belief system, as we traditionally abhor evil in whatever manner or form.

“However, we commend the security agencies for their proactive approach to tackling the grim security situation with a touch of professionalism. Edda is a peaceful community and therefore is determined to do anything humanly possible to sustain the prevailing atmosphere of peace in the clan.
“The leadership of Edda Clan will collaborate with relevant security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to justice.”
