Kalu Breaks Silence Over Tinubu’s Abia Ministerial Nominee

Former Chief Whip of the Senate and one of the aspirants who contested the Senate Presidency for the 10th National Assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu, has reacted to the Abia ministerial nominee of President Bola Tinubu for Abia State. 

The Eastern Updates reported that the list was submitted to the senate for screening and confirmation by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday.

Amongst the nominees is Nkiru Onyejeocha from Abia State who made the list alongside twenty-eight other nominees from across the federation.

Speaking on the nomination of Nkiru of Abia State, Orji noted that the federal government had approached him for the position, but he insisted that the president gave the position to whoever he wanted to give it to.

He added that the chosen candidate had his full support.

He said: ‘Well when I did not contest for senate presidency. The federal govt wanted me to be a minister. I respected my brother and friend, and the president of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu to put anybody of his choice and i support it.’
