Enugu: Ike Ekweremadu’s Son Makes Commissioners List

On Friday, Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, made public his choice of 15 commissioner-nominees, among whom are Lloyd Ekweremadu, the son of the embattled Chief Ike Ekweremadu, and Ada Chukwu, the daughter of former-governor Sullivan.

The carefully compiled list, which features the appointment of Lloyd Ekweremadu and Ada Chukwu, along with several other distinguished individuals, was officially presented to the state House of Assembly by the state government.

During the House session on Friday in Enugu, Speaker Uche Ugwu read out the list, laying out the names of the prospective commissioners.

The list of commissioner-nominees, formally endorsed by the Secretary of State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, includes personalities like veteran broadcaster Aka Eze Aka, Prof. Ndubueze Mba, Mrs. Ngozi Eni, Prof. Sam Ugwu, Chika Ugwoke, and Dr. Kingsley Ude.

Among the remaining commissioner-nominees are former commissioners Prof. Emmanuel Obi and Deacon Okey Ogbodo, along with Mrs. Ugochi Madueke, Dr. Malachy Agbo, Gerrald Otiji, Nathaniel Urama, and Prince Lawrence Ezeh.

In a letter authored by the Secretary of State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, it was it was clearly stated that the list presented is not exhaustive, and noted of potential nominations in the near future.

He urged for the expeditious consideration of this list, acknowledging the importance of having a full and capable executive team to tackle the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Enugu State.

‘While this may not be the exhaustive list, I’m optimistic that this request will receive your usual expeditious consideration,’ he appealed.

As the state House of Assembly continues deliberation on the nominees list, the entire state eagerly anticipates the outcome, hoping that those chosen will embody the values of integrity, competence, and dedication in their service to the people.
