President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday evening returned to Abuja from his work vacation.

The Eastern Updates reports that Tinubu left Nigeria for France on September 4, 2025 to spend part of his annual holiday.

According to the statement issued before his departure, the president was expected to spend 10 working days on the break.

His Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said on Monday in a statement that President Tinubu had concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and would return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.

“Last week in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace.

“Both leaders reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen the partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability,” he said.

The Presidency has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his claim that hunger may trigger a revolution under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, described Atiku’s remark as “talk is cheap,” insisting the former Vice-President and his team are out of touch with Nigeria’s current progress.

In a statement on X, Onanuga said Atiku’s comment reflected a disconnect from reality.

According to Onanuga: “Talk is cheap. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his handlers are clearly out of touch with the positive developments currently unfolding in our country.

“Their claim that hunger is ravaging Nigeria, and their comparison of our situation to the unrest in France before the 1789 Revolution or the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, is grossly misleading.
