Cahill endured a frustrating time under Sarri from July 2018 to June 2019.
He eventually left Stamford Bridge two months after Sarri.
“It was all tactical stuff (boring stuff, basically)? Yeah, what was Sarri ball then? I played there and I still don’t know what it is,” Cahill told former Chelsea midfielder John Obi-Mikel on the Obi One Podcast.
“He didn’t play me (laughs); he was a very standstill and superstitious manager.”
In another news, Jose Mourinho has confessed to having a great deal of respect for Victor Osimhen. As the Fenerbahce coach, he indirectly cautioned the Nigerian to cease diving now that he has moved on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray, their fierce rivals.
Mourinho said of the Nigeria striker: “Osimhen is a fantastic player. If I were in a club that can spend 70-75 million euros, I would buy him.
“I have no problem with Victor, I have a good relationship with him, even if he goes down a lot. I told Osimhen: ‘Look, you are one of the best players in Africa together with Salah. Before, there were Drogba, Eto’o, Weah. You can’t fall down that much!”
