Jonathan Not Running For 2027 Presidency – Patience

Listen to article

Dame Patience Jonathan has revealed that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan will not run for president in 2027.

Jonathan, as Patience stated, has held the most senior political position in Nigeria and does not have any more political aspirations.

Speaking while hosting the Greater Igbo Forum in Abuja, the former First Lady said Jonathan had held numerous significant political positions.

She assured that the former president was committed to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to Patience Jonathan: “My husband has reached the pinnacle of political office. What is he looking for again? We are not going in again.”

She also called on the Igbo people to unite and focus on the collective good rather than personal or political differences.

“We should love this country more than ourselves. Because if you don’t love this country, what is the future of our children?” she queried.

She also urged the Igbo community to set aside politics and work towards unity and development.

“Let us manage one another. Let us love ourselves. Let us be united and be our brother’s keepers,” she added.

In another news, the Peter Obi camp says they are unfazed by the latest buzz surrounding former President Goodluck Jonathan’s potential entry into the 2027 presidential bid. Sources close to the Labor Party’s flagbearer say they’re not losing sleep over Jonathan’s possible bid, exuding confidence in Obi’s growing momentum.

In a surprising turn of events, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially endorsed the potential return of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the party’s fold, sparking a flurry of reactions just days later. This move has set tongues wagging, with many pondering the implications of Jonathan’s possible comeback.

Rumblings of discontent have been simmering beneath the surface in recent weeks, with whispers of Northern elites and politicians growing increasingly disenchanted with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
