36-year-old Emmanuel Eze has been taken into custody by the Anambra State Police Command for his alleged involvement in a child trafficking ring. This group is suspected of targeting teenagers between the ages of 13 and 16, smuggling them into neighboring countries.

The arrest came after Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, expressed concerns about the rising number of missing person reports, particularly in the Okpoko and Onitsha areas, according to Ikenga Tochukwu, the Police Public Relations Officer.

The Commissioner instructed the police operatives to take immediate action to prevent further occurrences.

The police have revealed that the suspect is involved in child trafficking, targeting countries in the West African region, including Ghana and Benin Republic, although the suspect’s name has not been disclosed.

Fortunately, the victim has been safely repatriated from Accra, Ghana, to Nigeria and has received necessary support and debriefing.

In a bid to unravel the mysteries of the kidnapping syndicate, the suspect is currently being grilled at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka, where investigators are working tirelessly to extract vital information that could lead to the rescue of additional victims and the apprehension of other gang members, as revealed by Ikenga.

Social media platforms are abuzz with a disturbing video capturing the moment the Oba Police station was attacked and bombed by hoodlums on Tuesday, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The footage shows the police station in a state of total devastation, with every building leveled and not a single wall left standing.

The attack spared nothing, leaving a trail of devastation that included the complete destruction of buildings, as well as the wreckage of cars and motorcycles that were parked on site.
