A wave of grief has swept through Umucheke Okwe Community following the brutal murder of eight individuals. State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has responded with a visit to the community, pledging to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for the victims and their families.
Danjuma was accompanied by a powerhouse team, including Dr. Emeka Obi, the LGA’s Sole Administrator, and Major A.I. Maikarifi, a trusted liaison from the Commander 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, as they worked together to address the pressing concerns.
The State Police Commissioner, alongside top security personnel, reached out with compassion to console the families of the victims and the entire community, providing a supportive presence in their time of need.
The State Police Commissioner and security officials vowed to leave no stone unturned, assuring the families and community that a coordinated effort is underway to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable for their brutal actions.
In a statement issued by ASP Henry Okoye, the Command’s spokesperson, it was confirmed that the high-level entourage featured an array of top brass, including NSCDC Commandant Mathew Ovye, who played a key role in the delegation.
The Council Area’s Umucheke Okwe community was rocked by a vicious attack on Saturday, a day that will be etched in the memories of its residents for years to come.

According to a community member who wished to remain anonymous, the assailants chose their moment to strike, launching their attack while the victims were engaged in a meeting at the home of the Town Union President General.
The assailants opened fire indiscriminately, spraying bullets that claimed the lives of the President General and other revered village leaders, leaving a trail of death and destruction.
The source intimated that the driving force behind the killings is still unclear, generating a sense of disquiet and unease that is spreading throughout the community.
