One of the three abducted school children of the same parents from Amaoba-Ime Oboro Ikwuano Local Government Area, has been rescued and reunited with the family.
Mayor of Ikwuano, Comrade Osinachi Nwaka, in a statement yesterday by his media aide, announced that Master Divine Osinachi, a six-year-old child who went missing on May 10 with his two siblings, was found on May 21, in Ekwulobia, Anambra State in a rescue coordinated by officers from the Abia State Police Command, Homeland Security, and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
The Eastern Updates reports that the three siblings, Gideon Osinachi (8), Divine Osinachi (6), and Israel Osinachi (4), were abducted while returning home from school in Amaoba Ime Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State on May 10, this year.
Their grandmother was said to have put the three of them on a commercial motorcycle, popularly called okada, who disappeared with them without any trace.
However, in the latest development, Nwaka, who expressed gratitude for the efforts that led to the rescue of one of them, assured the public that the search for the remaining children, Gideon and Israel, was ongoing.He added: “We will leave no stone unturned in our quest to bring all our children back safely.
“The safety and well-being of our children remain our utmost priority of the Dr Alex Otti led administration.”
He further enjoined the public to be cautious and verify any information before disseminating it on social media to prevent the spread of misinformation.
The Mayor also called on anyone with any information that might assist in the ongoing search to contact the nearest police station or the designated emergency numbers.
