A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the Labor Party in the 2025 election expected to be held in Anambra State, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, has said that the crisis bedevilling the party at its national level notwithstanding, the party is supreme and its decision at the end of the day shall prevail.
The Eastern Updates recalls that before the party’s national convention at Nnewi a fortnight ago, the party had been enmeshed in a crisis which blew open at the convention as some stakeholders opted out, while questioning the process that threw up Julius Abure as its National Chairman for a second term in office.
But Ozigbo said: “The national leadership of the party is handling the matter and our national leader,Mr. Peter Obi is currently engaging stakeholders of the party and I am hoping that this matter would be properly resolved in good time.
“The reality is that a lot of people have issues concerning the process and you know in our party, we are process people and we don’t want to behave like the APC, PDP and APGA.

“So the Labor Party has to show some standards and we feel that the convention at Nnewi for instance fell short of standard. People were hoping that there would be ward, local government and state congresses before the National convention.
That has been the norm and the process; but at the convention, it started from the national without the ward, local government and state congresses and people had issues with that”.
He however said that they were waiting for the position of the national leadership of the party and whatever it says at the end of the day shall be binding on every member of the Labour Party because the party is Supreme.
Ozigbo who spoke to Daily Independent in Awka Monday also faulted Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration of Anambra State in the last two years for misplacing it’s priorities saying it made the provision of road infrastructure a cardinal objective while neglecting the security of lives and property of the citizenry.
