Apex Igbo socio-political organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on the South East Governors to intensify security at various flashpoints within the zone during and after Christmas.
Speaking through its acting National Youth Leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezukwu, Ohabaeze urged the governors and other leaders to ensure an all round security in the entire zone.
“I urge the South East Governors to intensify security, especially at the various flash-points in the region. As many that may travel during this festive period, I wish you journey mercies and divine protection to and from your various destinations as you prioritise your personal security.
He stressed the need for Ndigbo to take advantage of the Christmas season to return home to build brotherliness, love and oneness within the zone.

He also noted that the season was an opportunity to support various initiatives of Ohanaeze, South East governors, and other pan Igbo groups, especially towards addressing the security situation in the region.
“I am pleased to use this season of yuletide to felicitate with the Christian faithful as they celebrate Christmas, which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
“This is a season to share love with family members, friends and the underprivileged; and symbolically a time for self renewal, thus, charting a new beginning in your lives as Christian faithful.
“Let’s seize the moment to extend hands of love and compassion to the less privileged and downtrodden,” he added.
