Governor Hope Uzodinma vowed to apprehend those responsible for the killing of seven Joint Task Force (JTF) members in the Ehime Mbano area of Imo State on Tuesday, ensuring they face justice.
Governor Uzodimma visited the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area’s Umuezeala Owerre region on Tuesday evening, where he gave reassurance in response to the gruesome murder.
Joined by the top security personnel in the state, the governor couldn’t conceal his dismay at the reprehensible incident.
He gave assurance that “the State Government, in collaboration with security agencies, will fish out the perpetrators with a view to bringing them to book”.

Urging cooperation, Governor Uzodimma called upon community leaders and inhabitants in the area to share vital information that could prove instrumental in the investigation and prompt apprehension of the culprits.

The Eastern Updates had previously covered the distressing news that a team of unidentified gunmen had set up an ambush, resulting in the death of JTF personnels.
The incident, which took place in Umualumaku community within the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state, has disrupted the entire community, causing confusion and a clear sense of apprehension.
The attackers targeted and set fire to the joint security task force team, who were travelling in two security trucks, during an ambush.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident’s happening but expressed the need for additional time to acquire a complete understanding of the situation.
An eyewitness said that the community had become deserted as residents fled in response to the alarming situation that had developed.
