Naval Commander Macdonald Ubah (Rtd), the Senior Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor of Abia State, reiterated on Wednesday the firm commitment exhibited by the current administration in combatting all acts of criminal nature across every corner of Abia.

Furthermore, he shared that a security structure had been introduced by the state’s leadership, with a focused objective on enhancing the efficacy of intelligence gathering and surveillance mechanisms, ultimately improving the state’s capacity to counteract and stall criminal undertakings in Abia.

Speaking during an interview on Wednesday in Umuahia, Ubah reflected on the course of action through which several groups of kidnappers and other malevolent entities were conciliated to discontinue their harmful campaigns causing loss of lives and misappropriation of public resources under the past governance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The security aide said, ‘The Governor Alex Otti-led administration will not leave any stone unturned in dealing ruthlessly with criminal gangsters who attempt to constitute disturbances to the peace and security of the state and her people, saying gone are those days ransoms were being paid to mindless sets of abductors and bandits in securing a victim’s release from their captivity.’

Expressing displeasure, he disapproved of the recent killing of two police officers in Aba, the state’s prominent commercial hub. This incident happened following a confrontation between law enforcement bodies and sellers at the Ariaria International Market just last week.
