The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi yesterday read a riot act to suspected thugs, and criminals operating in the state especially as the 2023 general election approaches.

The governor equally used the opportunity to finally react to his last week’s Appeal Court judgement reversal, revealing that he ran to the altar of God in prayers, after his sack by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Umahi shared these comments while addressing stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, during a Thanksgiving service that took place at the new Government House Chapel, Centenary City, Abakaliki.

He described the Appeal Court judgement reversal as an answered prayer from God’s altar.

The Eastern Updates recalls that Umahi and his deputy, Eric Kelechi Igwe were in June sacked by Justice Inyang Ekwo of the federal court for defecting to the APC.

According to him: ‘I ran to the altar in prayers after the first judgement and God answered my petition with a counter judgement which gave the victory.

‘When the lower court asked us to leave, we came here and prayed to God but now that higher court has ruled that we should stay, are we not supposed to come and thank Him?’ He said.

The governor, however, called on all suspected miscreants and criminal elements to immediately vacate the southeast region, saying that the zone would soon become uninhabitable for them declaring that ‘Enough is enough’.
