Amidst the ongoing crisis in Ebonyi PDP, the senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly, Obinna Ogba has debunked the reports that he is planning to dump the opposition party for the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the forthcoming general elections in the state.
The Eastern Updates recalls that Ogba was one of those that contested for governorship in Ebonyi State on the party’s platform. He has now reconciled with his opponent, Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, who is now the guber candidate of the party in the state ahead of next year’s election.
While reacting to rumours making the rounds in the state that he had plans to dump PDP for APC for allegedly being denied the chance of flying the ticket of the party in the state, Senator Ogba called on the public to disregard the report.

According to him: ‘I’m a strong member of PDP, and nothing will make me to dump my party for APC,’ he stated.
Ogba had a few weeks ago called on his supporters to have confidence in the Supreme Court of Nigeria, despite its ruling on who becomes the authentic governorship candidate of the PDP, in the state.
Ogba had pointed out that there is still one more appeal case pending in the apex court for ruling, and called on them, not to lose hope, that the national leadership of the PDP will soon decide on who becomes the authentic governorship candidate of the party in the state.
The senator made this known while addressing stakeholders and teeming supporters during a solidarity rally that took place at his campaign office.
He said: ‘My reason for calling this meeting is to thank all of you for your support, for your solidarity to my humble self and I want to assure you that you will not be disappointed.
‘We have two cases in the Supreme Court, one has been decided and it’s not in our favor. We still have one in court.
‘I belong to the common people and the hope of a common man is the judiciary, I still have hope in the judiciary,’ he stressed.
The Eastern Updates reports that the Supreme Court had four weeks ago declared Ifeanyi Odii, also known as Anyichuks, as the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general election in the state.
