Kanu: Unknown Gunmen Threaten To Attack 10 LGAs In Anambra

Gunmen have allegedly written letters to residents of no fewer than 10 local government areas in Anambra State, vowing to attack them soon.

The gunmen informed the residents to be ready for their visit.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the local government areas pencilled to be attacked by the hoodlums are Ihiala, Aguata, Nnewi South, Awka North, Awka South, Idemili North, Idemili South, Orumba South, Orumba North and Anambra East.

According to the message which was obtained by The Eastern Updates, they urged the security operatives in the state to get ready for action.

According to the message: “We are warning our dear Professor that it is time for action and not time to speak big grammar and talking.

‘All the security men occupying should get ready for action.

‘Go and tell the President to release our oga, Onyendu, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or face continuous war.’

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police Command said it has killed some hoodlums operating and enforcing the sit-at-home order in the state.

The suspects were said to be operating around the Ogidi area on the second day of the sit-at-home when they confronted the security operatives.

The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, in the state, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the command and other sister agencies had been on patrol to maintain law and order in the state.

Ikenga asked the people to go about their normal businesses without any form of intimidation, harassment or worry, assuring them of adequate security.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, people were forced to be indoors because of the voice note circulating that anybody found out from 17th  to 20th would be killed.

Also, in the last two days, gunmen have attacked many people and public institutions, wounding and killing many in the State.

The fear of being attacked has forced many people to stay indoors.

With the development, many shops and parks in Awka Anambra State capital were shut while information from other parts of the state also showed that business activities were paralysed throughout the day.
