After the recently concluded elections in Imo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo state has elected Dr. Kelechi Macdonald Ebere as its chairman.
Coming from Mr. Godwin Anaughe, the Imo APC congress committee chairman, said that the APC party adopted a consensus approach in electing the new executives. He made it clear that the party members affirmed the names of each candidate for every elective position.
Matthew Omegara, a former House of Representatives member, emerged as the deputy chairman; Greg Madu as secretary; Ikechukwu Umeh as organising secretary; Ifeoma Ndukwu as the State woman leader, and Cajetan Duke as the publicity secretary.
In a congratulatory message to his friend and colleague which was sent to The Eastern Updates, Chief Better Joseph Ekeh who is an All Progressives Congress stakeholder and Governor Hope Uzodinma’s spokesman in the United Kingdom under the umbrella of Shared Prosperity Ambassadors described the election process as one which was free and fair, and he applauded the choice of the party for picking Dr. Kelechi Macdonald Ebere as their chairman.
The London based business executive further lauded the new Chairman on his election and charged him to be of good conduct and unwavering in his political decisions.

‘Dr. Kelechi Macdonald Ebere is an upstanding Statesman who is popular for his unbiased principles and accommodating nature which is why I would advise him to continue to be of wonderful conduct against the turmoils and obstacles that come with the job’.
‘With him at the helm of affairs of the APC, Imo State chapter, there would be a lot of growth in the party and this is an assurance that I can confidently give to all APC party members.’
Also sending in his congratulatory message is the erstwhile Federal Commissioner representing Imo state in the Public Complaints Commission Nigeria, and current Chief Technical Officer in Governor Uzodinma Hope Uzodinma’s government – High Chief (Barrister) Willie Amadi.
The technocratic who expressed a lot of joy at the election process posited that the choice of Dr. Kelechi Macdonald Ebere was an awesome one which was worthy of praise.
‘Having worked with Dr. Kelechi Macdonald Ebere, I can assure the APC family that he is going to perform unprecedentedly marvelous with this new position’.
‘Dr. Kelechi has a penchant for vehemently kicking against prejudice and this is why he is a great choice for the All Progressives Congress’.
The newly elected chairman described himself as a ‘bridge builder’, and expressed gratitude to party members for “finding him worthy of the position”.
He called for the support of the party members to enable the APC emerge victorious in all elective positions ahead of the 2023 general election.
