Anambra Gets New Police Commissioner

A new Commissioner of Police has been mobilised to Anambra State. The new CP has been identified as Tony Olofu.

The new police chief would now replace former CP Chris Owolabi.

The Eastern Updates gathered that CP Tony Olofu was born on 24th October 1963 in Benue State and hails from Apa, Local Government Area of the state.

He obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSC) degree in Sociology from the University of Jos.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant superintendent of police (ASP), on 3rd March 1990.

He has served in Kubwa, Abuja Command, Bayelsa State, Ebonyi State as well as DC in charge of Criminal Investigation Department CID Bauchi State Command.

He, also as a Commissioner of Police, served as CP Counter Terrorism Unit, CP Director Operations and Intelligence National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons at the Office of the National Security Adviser ONSA, Abuja before his deployment as the 31st Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command.

He is also a member of the Nigeria Contingent to Angola, Member Africa Centre for Strategic Studies, National Defence University, Arlington Virginia, USA, and Member International Chiefs of Police USA.
