Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma has asserted that 70% of the gunmen who attacked the state in recent times are not Igbo.
He said that over 400 people were arrested and charged in court for causing havoc in the state.
Security installations in the county, including the police headquarters and the correctional center in Owerri, the state capital, had been targeted by gunmen.
Uzodinma said in a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku, that the majority of the suspects are not of Igbo descent.

‘The good thing is that over 70 percent of them are not Igbo. We will crush anybody that attempts to cause mayhem or attack Imo people again.
‘Government cannot surrender to blackmailers, hoodlums, and perpetrators of violence.’
‘What happened in the past weeks will never repeat itself again,‘ he added.
