IPOB: Nwodo Opens Up On Daily ‘Death Threat’ Messages

Chief Nnia Nwodo, President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has opened up on the kind of death threat messages he gets from IPOB members on a daily basis.

Despite the recent peace meeting by first republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi between the two factions and the resolve at unity, it comes as a surprise that the chieftain still receives threats.

Leader of the Nnamdi Kanu Indigenous People Of Biafra had directed members of his group to stone Nwodo to death anywhere they saw him a few weeks ago, but he retracted his statement and apologised after the peace meeting.

Reacting to the threats, Chief Nwodo declared that he wouldn’t be subdued by a few empty threats by some never do wells looking to shatter the relationship between IPOB and Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Instead, he would continue to do his best in serving the Igbo nation till the expiry of his tenure as president-general come January next year.

He also mentioned that the death threats, including the stone to death declaration by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu were all from one source and have been targetted at him, his family members, and members of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Forum.

He vowed not to officially involve security agencies because of his good-hearted nature.

Nwodo made the disclosure when a group of Igbo women paid solidarity and prayer visits to the Ohanaeze national secretariat, Enugu.
