The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi State Command has decorated 52 senior officers recently elevated across various ranks, marking another milestone in the command’s internal restructuring and operational drive. Those promoted include officers who moved from Assistant Commandant to Deputy Commandant, Superintendent to Chief Superintendent, and Deputy Superintendent of Corps to Superintendent, among other categories. The decoration ceremony was held at the state command headquarters in Abakaliki.
Speaking shortly after the event, the Ebonyi State Commandant of the NSCDC, Francis Nnadi, described the promotions as both recognition of diligence and a renewed call to service. He said the command remains committed to strengthening its core mandate of protecting critical national, state, and local government infrastructure, while also deepening professionalism within its ranks. According to him, the elevation of officers comes with higher expectations and greater responsibility.
Nnadi emphasised that the command was positioning itself for broader collaboration with other security agencies in the state, particularly ahead of forthcoming local government elections and other electoral activities. He noted that proactive coordination and intelligence sharing would be prioritised to ensure the safety of residents and the integrity of democratic processes. He added that the leadership of the Corps had consistently tasked him with raising standards and ensuring that the Ebonyi command remained among the best-performing units nationwide.

He observed that security presence in the state had been significantly strengthened through collaboration between the police and the Civil Defence Corps. Idike reminded the promoted officers that advancement in rank comes with increased accountability, urging them to raise their performance levels in line with the trust reposed in them.
