Chicago Bears Owner, Virginia McCaskey Dies At 102

The longtime principal owner of the Chicago Bears, Virginia McCaskey, is dead.

She died at 102 and was born Virginia Marion Halas in 1923 in Chicago.

Fox News reports that McCaskey controlled Chicago’s NFL franchise since 1983.

The report said she inherited ownership of the franchise after the death of her father and team founder George Halas.

McCaskey married Ed McCaskey in 1943, and eventually had eleven children together.

The McCaskey family has provided a statement via the Bears, saying McCaskey lived a “full” life.

“While we are sad, we are comforted knowing Virginia Halas McCaskey lived a long, full, faith-filled life and is now with the love of her life on earth,” the statement read.

The Eastern Updates had also reported that Denis Law, the legendary Manchester United forward affectionately known as e“The King,” has died at the age of 84.

The footballing world is united in grief as it bids farewell to Law, a true icon and one of the game’s all-time greats.

The Scottish forward passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with illness.

In a heartfelt statement released on Friday, the Law family shared their sorrow:

“It is with a heavy heart that we tell you our father Denis Law has sadly passed away. He fought a tough battle but is now at peace.

“We would like to thank everyone who contributed to his wellbeing and care, past and more recently. We know how much people supported and loved him, and that love was always appreciated pand made a difference. Thank you.”

Law’s passing marks the end of an extraordinary era for Manchester United, where he ruled as a prolific goalscoring maestro during his illustrious 13-year tenure.
