Operatives of the newly launched security outfit, Agunechemba, have allegedly uncovered 30 graves and a shrine within the premises of a popular hotel in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The discovery was reportedly made on Saturday following a tip-off from a public-spirited individual.
Videos of the hotel premises, captured by the operatives and now viral on social media, show well-partitioned graves and a shrine within the compound.
Although there has been no official statement on the discovery, Mr Ejimofor Opera, an aide to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, stated that the hotel has been demolished in line with the Anambra State Homeland Security Law.
He said: “The demolition of a kidnappers’ den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also known as ‘La Cruise Hotel’, along Onitsha-Owerri Road, is underway.”
He also posted videos of the demolition to substantiate his claims.
While there have been reports suggesting that the hotel is owned by a native doctor, this has not been confirmed.
As of the time of filing this report, police authorities in Anambra have yet to make any official statement on the matter.
In other news, Bandits have placed ₦540 million ransom on the victims abducted from a General Hospital in Kankara local government area of Katsina State.
The Eastern Updates also recalls that the attack on the hospital left a medical doctor and one other with gunshot injuries.
The medical doctor, Dr Murtala Sale Dandashire had sustained gunshot injury when bandits attacked the hospital, Tuesday, during which some staff members were kidnapped.
Yusuf Muhammad Mairuwa, an Assistant Director of Nursing Services and head of the nursing section of the hospital, is one of the kidnapped victims.
A source told The Eastern Updates that the attackers had demanded a ransom of N270 million for the release of the nurse.
