Military Declares War On Lakurawa Extremists, Pledges Victory

Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, has reiterated the unwavering commitment of his troops to tackle the Lakurawa terrorist group operating along the Nigeria-Niger border. His statement underscores the military’s determination to neutralize threats and restore security to the region.

Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, spokesperson for Operation Fansan Yamma, revealed in a statement that the declaration was issued during an operational visit to the tactical headquarters of the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Balle, located within Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, on Friday.

Major General Soyele reiterated the importance of unwavering commitment from the troops engaged in Operation Flush Lakurawa Out. He made it clear that the preservation of Nigeria’s territorial integrity is an absolute priority, calling it “non-negotiable” and stressing its fundamental importance to the nation’s security.

Addressing the troops, his message was one of persistent vigilance and steadfast resolve, emphasizing the need to break down the influence of the criminal group, which continues to present a serious threat to the peace and safety of the communities along the border.

General Soyele reached out to local communities, appealing for their cooperation in the fight against terrorism.

He underscored the crucial role that local support plays in the success of military operations, urging residents to actively collaborate with security forces.
