Reacting to the news of Israel halting its military operations in Lebanon, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, conveyed Tehran’s approval. He reaffirmed the Islamic Republic’s enduring support for Lebanon’s government, its people, and the resistance forces, highlighting Iran’s dedication to regional stability and cooperation.

Baqaei reinforced Iran’s firm belief in the necessity of an immediate end to the wars in Gaza and Lebanon. He went on to outline the significant diplomatic steps Tehran has taken in the past 14 months, aimed at achieving a swift resolution to the conflicts.

Baqaei condemned the Zionist regime’s actions, which, with the full support of the US and select European nations, have resulted in the martyrdom of 60,000 innocent people. He stressed that 120,000 individuals have been injured, more than 3.5 million displaced across Palestine and Lebanon, and the destruction of vital infrastructure in Gaza and Lebanon is widespread.

The spokesperson also drew attention to the interim injunctions from the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which demand an end to genocide, and the arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court (ICC) targeting the Zionist regime’s leaders for their involvement in war crimes and crimes against humanity.

He pointed out that global public opinion, which has demanded an end to the war and genocide for the past 14 months, is now awaiting justice in the form of prosecution and punishment for the criminals of the occupying regime.

Baqaei emphasized the international community’s responsibility to protect peace and stability in West Asia and to exert effective pressure on the aggressor Zionist regime to cease the war against Gaza.
