Social media critic Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, of having the Nigerian judicial system in his pocket.

VeryDarkMan was reacting to the demolition of a property allegedly opposite Wike’s residence in the Asokoro area of Abuja.

Posting on his Instagram handle, VeryDarkMan read an appeal by one of those affected by the demolition.

He said the owner claimed that they “want to take his land and allocate it to themselves after spending ten years to develop.”

According to VeryDarkMan: “This place is said to be opposite Wike’s house, which I find very suspicious. May God not let this evil happen to us; people will rather come to VeryDarkMan than go to court for justice.

“It is painful to think that no one believes in the justice system in Nigeria anymore because the judiciary has been allegedly bought by the likes of Nyesom Wike and his cahoots. How do you carry out this kind of act without notice? Do you even sit down to think of the security implications? Dear Nyesom Wike, why all this?

“Imagine leaving the court to cry on social media while there have been allegations that Wike buys land and properties for judges, so he controls the judiciary. They can’t run to court because nothing will be done as Wike has the judges in his pocket.”

In other news, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike has said his administration will not be deterred by criticisms from some aggrieved partisans, saying if he was idle as a minister it is the same group of persons who would have been castigating him

The minister spoke on Friday after he inspected five ongoing projects including three roads, a flyover bridge and the Judges Quarters in Abuja.

He said; “Who are those criticizing? I don’t think of that. I am not bothered. Once you have a presidential approval to go ahead, and by the backing of the National Assembly, what is my business with those who are criticizing? Those are people who, even when you give them the opportunity, they cannot do anything.
“So, forget about those criticisms. If you had not done it, they are still the ones who would complain that the environment within which our Judges and Justices are working is not conducive.

“Now you are trying to provide an environment that will make them (Judges) work well, they will say, oh, it is for another reason. So you don’t bother yourself. Now move on and do your work. I am not bothered about the so-called criticisms. It does not exist where I am”.
