Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW.
MC Oluomo was the sole candidate in the election, which took place at the Union’s Zonal Secretariat along the Osogbo/Ikirun road, Osun State, on Saturday.
Delegates from the four South-West states of Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti participated in the election.

MC Oluomo was the former chairman of NURTW, Lagos State Chapter, before his emergence as National President.
Speaking after taking the oath of office, MC Oluomo urged the union members to allow peace reign and reiterated his commitment to unity in the union.
“I have forgiven everyone that offended me and I wish those I offended would forgive me as well.
“This is our union and we must be committed to its preservation. We will not allow anyone to destroy our means of livelihood,” he said.
In other news, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for her appointment.
Bianca reaffirmed her commitment to aligning with the government’s foreign policy objectives.
She spoke after the swearing in of the newly appointed ministers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Bianca disclosed that Tinubu had made things easier by establishing a clear foreign policy.
“The President has made things easier by establishing a clear foreign policy direction,” she said.
Speaking further, she emphasised the importance of leveraging the creative potential, skills, and capital of young Nigerians and the Diaspora to enhance service delivery.
