In a disturbing event, a man was set on fire by two assailants whose identities remain unknown, while he was inside his two-bedroom apartment in Ngbo community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Ebonyi State.
The incident has raised alarm among residents, highlighting ongoing concerns about violence in the region.
Early Wednesday, two assailants on a motorcycle fatally shot a man at his residence before igniting his body in flames. The shocking brutality of the attack has left the community grappling with fear and uncertainty regarding their safety.
In a WhatsApp message sent to the press on Wednesday evening, DSP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesperson, confirmed the tragic event, assuring the public that law enforcement is actively looking into the details surrounding the case.

He detailed that the tragic event happened in the early morning hours of Wednesday, stating that two unidentified assailants rode a motorcycle to the residence of a man in Ngbo community, where they shot him dead and set his corpse ablaze in his two-bedroom apartment.
“Early hours of today, two yet-to-be-identified assailants rode on a motorcycle to the residence of one Michael Nnaji ‘m’ aged 48yrs of Amo-Okwor, Ngbo shot him dead and set his corpse and two-bedroom apartment ablaze”.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have launched a concerted effort to locate the assailants, with police operatives on the ground actively searching for any leads that could lead to their capture.
