The new system aims to streamline the immigration process, reduce long queues at entry points, and ensure a seamless experience for travelers moving in and out of Nigeria.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, revealed the government’s plans to implement this transformative measure. The minister emphasized the importance of this initiative in improving border management and making the immigration process faster and more secure for all travelers.

During the presentation, which was overseen by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the newly created integrated border management system for the Nigeria Immigration Service was showcased. This state-of-the-art system is expected to enhance national security measures by integrating advanced technology and collaborative expertise. At the same time, it aims to ensure smoother and more efficient border.

He further elaborated that the e-gate technology is a fully automated border control system, which has been developed to optimize the experience of travelers.

As the government progresses with the implementation of this new system, the minister reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s administration remains committed to staying ahead in border management, emphasising the importance of tackling emerging challenges to bolster national security.
