An aide to former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has attributed the problem in the party to governors who have been seen to openly associate or support the whims and outbursts of rogue party leader Nyesom Wike.
Demola Olarewaju, who is Atiku Abubakar’s Special Assistant on Digital Media and Strategy, posted on X that any state governor associating with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is a traitor in PDP.

According to Olarewaju: “Wike’s entire relevance in Nigeria’s political space is directly dependent on his ability to rock PDP’s boat and make it less formidable.
“Any governor associating with him is a traitor in PDP and I’ll even go further and say: Governors are the root of PDP crises since 2015.
“You can trace every major crisis in PDP to the ‘zoning’ of NWC offices to individual governors ever since the party lost Aso Rock and some of us saw it coming in 2015.
“The current tensions may or may not abate and nationalists must be tactically flexible about party platforms.”
In other news, Nyesom Wike who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has blasted some of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors who have been backing Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
Wike had reiterated that the governors must be sick if they do not recognize that he (Wike) is bigger than all of them put together.
Adamawa State Governor, Umaru Fintiri, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and other members of the former G5 were in Port Harcourt on Saturday for a grand reception in honour of Wike, who was hosted by the Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress.
