Dr. Oluebube Chukwu who is the Senior Special Assistant on Due Process to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has asserted that the plan by the Governor to set up a medical village in the state will turn Abia into a medical tourist state.

Chukwu pointed out that when actualized, the facility will reverse all forms of medical tourism from India and some other parts of Europe and America to Abia State.

Chukwu, who made this known while speaking with journalists in Umuahia, said the medical village would not only bring about transformation in healthcare delivery in the state, but also lower healthcare costs.

Abia Medical Village, when set up, will provide healthcare to meet the needs of patients in any part of the state and beyond as well as equip health care providers with tools and resources needed to care for patients to the best of their ability.

“Remember also that Governor Otti has promised during his monthly media chat that in his vision of Abia Medical Village, everything that you can find in any top notch medical centre around the world will be made available” he said
