The Police Command in Abia State has revealed that it has arrested one Emmanuel Victor, the principal suspect in the murder of Emmanuel Uche, a student of Abia State University, Uturu.
The Eastern Updates recalls that Emmanuel Uche, a 500-level student of ABSU was on March 11, 2024, killed by some persons suspected to be cult members and the viral videos of the killing which took place in front of Miracle Lodge, caused a sensation on the internet.
However, Abia State Police Command on Friday, said a team of its detectives has arrested the principal suspect in the murder, identified as Victor Emmanuel.
A press release signed by ASP Maureen Chinaka, the Abia State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, said: “Acting on a credible intelligence today, April 18, 2024, at about 1100 hrs, a team of police detectives from Abia State Police Command, apprehended the principal suspect at Isiukwuato who was captured in the viral video committing the murder of Emmanuel Uche at Miracle Lodge, Abia state University, Uturu.”

The press release noted that the principal suspect has confessed to the crime and is presently in lawful custody.
The Abia Police Command added that the suspect would be charged in court.
In another report, the Police Command in Enugu State has confirmed the arrest of an Enugu resident, one Mmaduabuchi Okonkwo, 24, suspected to have, and transacting in fake Naira notes.
A statement by the command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe which was obtained by The Eastern Updates, said that operatives serving in Abakaliki Road Police Division, with the support of law-abiding citizens, arrested Okonkwo of Mkpologu, Emene, Enugu, at the Old IMT Bus Stop, Abakaliki Road, Enugu, on April 10.
According to him, the suspect’s arrest is sequel to his alleged possession, and transacting in, counterfeit naira notes.
