The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu has declared that the initiative to remodel primary and secondary schools in Abia would transform the education sector in a few months.
In a chat with journalists in Umuahia on Wednesday, Chukwu stated that the initiative announced last week after the meeting of the State Executive Council would help revolutionize the entire Abia education sector.
He described the move as strategic, given that education is indispensable in the quest to build a modern and better Abia.
The SSA applauded Otti for the well-thought-out policy initiative, noting that a well-functioning education system will significantly impact Abia’s economic growth and overall development.
According to him, equipping Abians with the right skills and knowledge would enable them to be competitive on the global stage in this era of globalisation.

Chukwu, also the founder of Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, stated that no other form of empowerment could compare to giving Abia children a sound education, which the governor is committed to achieving.
“A good education teaches one skills as well as broadens one’s horizons to gain better perspective and also helps in inspiring creativity, innovation that could make the state a major player in the global economy.
“Education helps people think, feel and behave in a way that contributes to the success and improvement, not only on the personalities of individuals but also their communities as well as the entire state,” he said
During his recent media chat, Otti explained that the school remodelling initiative resulted from his government’s resolve to stop the education system in the state from going down.
He stated that 170 primary and 51 secondary schools across the state have been slated for remodelling in the project’s first phase to conform to the 21st-century standard.
Otti said by year’s end, all schools in Abia were expected to have received some rehabilitation, including the provision of modern teaching and learning tools and materials.
The governor further stated that teachers would receive the right skills and knowledge to teach the relevant subjects Abia children need to survive in a global environment.
