Anambra State’s Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has shared his heartfelt condolences following the demise of beloved Nollywood actor and director, Amaechi Muonagor.
In his expression of sympathy, the governor paid tribute to the invaluable role the deceased actor played in shaping Nigeria’s entertainment world, portraying him as a seasoned expert, a remarkable individual, and a distinguished native of Anambra State.
Muonagor’s passing was reported to have occurred on Sunday at the age of 62.
According to a statement from his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo fondly remembered Muonagor, emphasizing his origins in Obosi, within the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, and his talent for spreading laughter and happiness to audiences not only in Nigeria but also abroad.
He said: “Just few months ago, the Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo paid a visit to late Muonagor at the hospital and consequent plans were being put in place to further support the ailing actor. Sadly, he succumbed to the cold hands of death on Sunday March 24th, 2024.

“Mr Muonagor will however be remembered for his comic talents which were undeniable, as evidenced by his 2016 nomination for the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) for Best Actor in a Comedy.
“The Governor, therefore, extends his deepest condolences to Mr. Muonagor’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Nollywood community during this painful time.
He expressed his hope for the peaceful repose of Mr. Muonagor’s soul, while also acknowledging that his legacy endures through the memorable moments he created and the characters he portrayed in his numerous films.
“He prays that Mr. Muonagor’s soul rest in peace, even as his legacy lives on through the memorable joys he shared and the characters he brought to life in his many movies.”
