The Ministry of Women and Social Welfare in Anambra State has declared a lawyer, Mrs Adachukwu Okafor wanted.

The Eastern Updates reports that Okafor was accused of serially abusing her teenage house help, including burning her buttocks with a hot pressing iron.

A video of her rescued aide which trended on social media days ago, showed the young girl with scalded body, as she was also unable to walk.

The young girl was rescued by some concerned individuals after they noticed her body.

The lady lawyer was also quoted to have tongue-lashed the neighbours, including boasting that no one can arrest her for trying to enforce discipline in her home.

She was, however, said to have disappeared, after the video got to the knowledge of the Anambra State government, who sought to arrest her.

The commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon Ify Obinabo in a press release she signed on Monday said: “Adachukwu Okafor stands accused of using knives and other sharp objects to inflict injuries on her 11-year-old housekeeper.

“Anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest of Adachukwu Okafor will be handsomely rewarded.”

Recall that following the alleged abuse, Adachukwu dispatched Happiness back to her guardian, Ifeoma Moughalu, with a chilling threat to wield her legal influence should Ifeoma ‘misbehave’. The battered and traumatized child, Happiness, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

The police were promptly informed about the incident. However, Adachukwu, cognizant of the impending legal storm, is believed to have gone on the run. Her current whereabouts remain unknown, her phone ominously silent.
