My Father’s Burial Will Comply With State Burial Laws -Soludo

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has disclosed that the symbolic coincidence of the date of his father’s death. 

He said the death of his father, 92-year-old Pa Nwankwo Soludo, which occurred on November 6, 2023 at 7:45am, coincided with the anniversary of his election.

The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor said in Awka that his father would be buried ‘in strict compliance with the Anambra State burial laws.’

He spoke after receiving a condolence letter from members of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC), delivered by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim and Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu.

Soludo hailed ANSEC members for their thoughtfulness and solidarity “during my difficult moment.”

He said his father lived a befitting life and would be accorded a decent burial.

He promised to issue a formal statement with regard to the burial arrangements.

Recall that the late sage was kidnapped some year back at his Aguata country home and released after some days in the kidnapper’s den.

Popularly known as (Ichie Akukananwa 1) in the Aguata area, the nonagenarian died in the early hours of Monday, 6th of November.

The late Pa Soludo was survived by seven sons, eight daughters-in-law, twenty-two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

According to the governor, his late father lived a fulfilled life and died at the ripe age of ninety-two years (92)

Meanwhile, some members of the community had expressed shock at the death of the man, describing him as strong about three days ago.

A lady, who gave her name as Prisca, told reporters that he was loved by all because according to her,” he was a peacemaker”
