The House of Assembly in Enugu State has passed the supplementary Appropriation Bill submitted to it by Governor Peter Mbah, The Eastern Updates has gathered.
The Appropriation Bill with budget size of N58,095,482,293, was read for the first, second and third time by the lawmakers yesterday.
The bill titled: ‘The bill for a law to authorise the issuance and appropriation of the total sum of ₦58,095,482,293 for capital and recurrent expenditure for the year ending 31st December, 2023’, saw the lawmakers taking time to canvass for their constituencies.

Passing the bill, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Uche Ugwu, hoped that the bill would enable Governor Mbah to carry out some capital projects.
In another report, Governor Mbah has revealed that his administration has concluded plans to build 20,000 housing units with modern facilities for civil servants in the state within the next one year.
The governor made this revelation as the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Non-Remittance to the National Housing Fund (NHF) and Utilisation of the Funds, led by its Chairman, Dachung Bagos, commended Mbah for his efforts in ensuring that the state government is up to date in terms of compliance and remittance to the NHF.
While receiving members of the committee who were on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Enugu, yesterday, the governor said his government is passionate about prioritising the welfare of workers in the state through various incentives, which include the planned 20,000 mass housing scheme.
Mbah, who said the state has been playing major roles in the growth and development of the country, added that under his government, the state would continue to meet up with its financial commitment for the well-being of the people.
