Avoid Hard Drugs, Prostitution, Ebonyi Lawmaker Urges Youths

A lawmaker representing Abakaliki/North constituency in the Ebonyi state house of Assembly, EBSHA, Mr. Victor Nwoke who is of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have called on Ebonyi Youths to desist from in takes of hard drugs, prostitution and other social vices in the interest of their future. 

Nwoke made this appeal on Thursday during in a meeting with youths, women and stakeholders of his constituency that took place at his office, located at Nkaliki, Ebonyi State.

The lawmaker who enlisted over one thousand Youths to be trained in various skill development at the Ebonyi State vocational college, pledged his commitment to partner the state Governor, Francis Nwifuru in the fight against crimes.

He reiterated his committed efforts to work with the governor to withdraw thousands of Ebonyi Youths who are on the street of Lagos, Abuja and other states of the Federation doing hawking.

According to him: ‘So many of our youths are outside the state engaging themselves in hawking, and that’s leads to death. So many of our youths are being brought home died by accident as a result of hawking.’

He however, went on to appeal to the youths to make adequate use of the opportunity given to them to learn the various skills, to make amend from the various lifestyles and attitudes that pushes them to commit crimes in the state.

‘Our Youths are passing through hell and other dangers while hawking in various states of the Federation. And that’s why I invited them to enroll them in various skill developments, so as to make them become useful to their parents and the society.

‘If they take this training serious, it will help them to reduce crimes and other evil things, especially drug Abuse, Prostitution and stealing’ he stated.
