Imo CP Launches Manhunt For Unknown Gunmen

Imo State Commissioner of Police (CP), Mohammed Barde has launched a tracking operation for gunmen, who invaded and set ablaze the country home of the immediate past member of House of Representatives, Jerry Alagboso, in Orsu.

The Eastern Updates reports that attack came a few days after hoodlums invaded the home of the traditional ruler-elect in the area in the same manner.

Police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, who confirmed the development, said: ‘The Commissioner of Police has condemned this dastardly act in totality and has ordered an intensive manhunt for the arsonists. More so, Optimal Security Operatives of the Joint task force have been deployed in Orsu to prevent similar occurrences.

‘Certainly, we will apprehend the hoodlums that are involved and they would be made to face the full wrath of the law.’

Alagboso represented Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State in the House of Representatives.

Before venturing into politics, he retired from Nigeria Customs Service as a senior officer.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the hoodlums who came with guns and dangerous weapons chased away residents of the area before, breaking into the house, and carrying out the dastardly act.

Sources said they arsonists also carted away valuables worth millions of naira, before leaving the carcass of the house in flames.
