The police have been urged to immediately release journalist Nonso Nkwa by the member representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu

The lawmaker alleged that the police abducted the journalist on the order of the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

Ugochinyere stated this in Abuja, while speaking to journalists about the security situation in Imo State.

On the security situation in Imo, Ugochinyere pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to pay special attention to the State, insisting that journalist Nkwa must be unconditionally released.

He called for the reshuffling of the heads of the various security agencies in Imo.

According to him, Governor Uzodimma has allegedly weaponised insecurity in the state, adding that it is usual practice for the state government to label anyone with opposing views as a security threat.
