The decoration was performed on Friday at the command’s headquarters in Owerri by the command’s commandant, Mr. Matthew Ovye.

He urged officers who had not yet received promotions to maintain their faith and not give up because their promotions will arrive in due course.

He complimented Ahmed Abubakar-Audi, the Commandant-General (C-G), for his dedication to the welfare and inspiration of the corps’ troops, which was demonstrated by the advancement of officers and men.

‘I urge everyone who is celebrating to see this promotion as an extra obligation and to recommit yourself to duty as a result.

‘I urge you to join the C-G’s campaign to rejig, revamp, resuscitate, reinvigorate, and structure the corps,‘ he stated.

Also, Mr. Aliyu Ndanusa, an Assistant Commandant-General and the Corps Zonal Commander for Zone ‘E,’ gave the promoted officers advice on how to best justify their promotions by reaffirming their commitment to, among other fundamental duties, crisis management and the protection of important national assets.

Mr. Udo Uko, the Zone ‘E’ Commandant of the corps, and the heads of Imo’s security organizations attended the ceremony.
