The factional leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has raised an alarm over the grievances of youths in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary-General of Ohanaeze, alleged that over a hundred thousand youths have besieged his father’s house over the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to announce the result of the local government.

Speaking with reporters, Isiguzoro decried that the youths are threatening to burn down his father’s house if INEC fails to announce the correct result in the area.

The Eastern Updates had reported the suspension of collation of the gubernatorial election result from Obingwa Local Government Area of the state.

INEC cited attacks and the invasion of its office in the council area by suspected political thugs as the reason for the suspension.

The electoral commission is currently reviewing the governorship election result from Obingwa Local Government Area.

However, Isiguzoro said the aggrieved youths claim that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, got over a hundred thousand votes in Obingwa Local Government Area.

According to Isiguzoro: ‘There is trouble in Obingwa, and there are over 120, 000 voters in Obingwa and they have besieged my house. Over a hundred thousand youths have besieged my house in Obingwa; they are asking me to talk about the election.

‘I want to tell INEC that the youths besieged my house in Okewuzo in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State; they are threatening to burn down my house, that if I refuse to talk, they would burn down my father’s house.’

‘They said I’m the only person that would tell the truth to the world, that the vote cast in Obingwa was genuine and I must tell the INEC Chairman to pronounce the result. And the result is that PDP had over a hundred thousand votes in Obingwa, that is what they are saying.
