The Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has asserted that it is impossible to rig the ongoing presidential and national assembly election by desperate politicians.
The governor who commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for conducting a peaceful, fair, and credible election in the state, noted that there are adequate security operatives to protect lives and properties.
Umahi made this known while speaking with newsmen shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit, Onu Ofokuru 013 polling unit, Umunnaga ward 10 Uburu community in Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State.
He described the general election as the most hitch-free and peaceful election ever conducted by INEC in the country.
According to him: ‘For me, INEC has done a great wonderful job and the security agencies in Ebonyi state have as well done a great job. The assessment is that INEC has perfected a good process and rigging will be very impossible.
‘I wish to commend the security agencies very highly and so far, we have minimal infractions and not up to 00.1%, but I have been asking them not to relent because evil people may want to strike at the end of the voting.
‘So that they may want to carry billot papers before the counting, and I have directed that in Ebonyi state, no vehicle or Keke is allowed to move too close to the voting area within 100 meters.
‘So, the election in Ebonyi is peaceful and the votes will count. Ebonyi will be an example for other states he stated.
