Economic Challenges: Ugwuanyi Hails Resilience Of ‘Ndi Enugu’

The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has commended the resilient spirit of some of the indigenes of the state who have managed to excell in their various business endeavours nationally and internationally in spite of the challenges confronting the country, while he had stressed that “Ndi Enugu have shown resilience in the face of the nation’s economic challenges.”

Gov. Ugwuanyi had also made this statement yesterday, when he had inspected the 1500-120 TPH capacity Marini Batch Asphalt Plant at Emene, Enugu, which had been newly built by an indigenous construction company, Eketeson Resources International Limited.

The governor had also in a special way thanked the Managing Director of the company, Chief Engr. Donald Ekete, an indigene of Enugu State, for the bold initiative of investing in the state, describing it as a great project.

Gov. Ugwuanyi who had attributed the existing peace and security in Enugu State to God’s kindness and mercy, beseeched Him (God) to give more indigenes of Enugu State the enablement to invest and open more business ventures in the state.

Stating that the Eketeson asphalt plant project will be a reference point in the next 50 years, the governor prayed that the company will grow from strength to strength and provide employment opportunities for more people of Enugu State.

In another report, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has lauded some of the awards which had been recently received by some Nigerian citizens while describing the national honours award which had been bestowed on the notable Nigerians, including Igbo sons and daughters, by President Muhammadu Buhari as well deserved.

Ohanaeze had also revealed that it had been delighted and elated that some notable Igbo sons and daughters made the national honours award list. This had been contained in a statement signed by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide.
