An Orlu based lawyer identified as Darlington Odume has been shot dead by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
The Eastern Updates gathered on Thursday that Odume was shot dead by the hoodlums yesterday evening.
The lawyer popularly known as Omekagu was shot at a supermarket at Amaifeke in Orlu.
The assailants stormed the supermarket at Umudara Amaifeke, Orlu on motorcycles and shot him on the chest, and zoomed off.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the slain lawyer was rushed to a hospital in the area but was rejected and referred to the Imo State University Teaching Hospital, Orlu.
He, however, died on the way to the teaching hospital.
It was further learnt that the slain lawyer had his chamber in Orlu town.
He was handling some of the cases of those arrested in connection with the violence rocking the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Michael Abattam when contacted confirmed the killing to newsmen.
He said, ‘Investigations are in top gear to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and to also apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act ‘
