An Igbo man by name Commander Kelechi Ndukwe has become the first Nigerian, and Nigerian-American to take command of a US Navy Guided Missile Destroyer, USS Halsey (DDG-97).
He holds a Bachelors’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Notre Dame as well as an MSc from the National Security and Strategy, US Naval War College.
He joins a list of reputable Nigerians who have been appointed into sensitive positions by the Joe Biden led administration in the US
