The immediate past senator representing Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) in the Red Chambers, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has spoken of the need for the Governor Hope Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency give face-lift to roads in Owerri zone because of their strategic relevance to the people of the state.

Anyanwu, who is popularly known as Samdaddy among his admirers, specifically mentioned the deplorable roads in Mbaitoli, Ikeduru, Ngor Okpala, Owerri North, and Mbaise areas, saying that they are strategically located and are capable of boosting the state’s economic potentials, especially in the area of raising the Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) if rehabilitated.

He further stated that the people of these areas have made invaluable contributions towards the development of the state and country and therefore, deserve to be given adequate attention, warning that any further neglect might lead to losing interest in the governance of the state.

The PDP chieftain who recognized the efforts of the governor anchored on his 3R mantra said he was optimistic that his vision would transform the state, adding that he was doing his best to reconnect the state.

He, however, urged him to focus on the areas regarded as worst hit areas. Such areas he said are: the Ekemelee-Akabo road in Ikeduru LGA, Ulakwo-Imerienwe-Umuekwune road in Ngor Okpala, Umunoha-Ifakala-Mbieri road in Mbaitoli, MCC-Uratta in Owerri North and the Aboh junction-Itu in Mbaise.
