Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has reiterated that the team’s major goal is to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Lookman, who recently finished 14 in Monday’s Ballon d’Or award in Paris, stated this in a chat with 54footballx, where he said that the players remain committed to achieving the results.

The Atlanta star also urged the players to be consistent in every game they play.
“It has been great. I have known him obviously the coach before because he gave me my first call-up to play for Nigeria, so I know him very well.
“We’ve shown good performances as a team in these AFCON qualifiers and now we need to do better on a consistent basis.
“We’ve won two games and drawn one game, so we will continue in this manner, and try to win our games.
“Obviously the goal is to qualify for AFCON and World Cup, so we are looking to do those things,” he said.
In other news, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the final schedule for the CAF Women’s Champions League, Morocco 2024.
The fourth edition of Africa’s premier women’s club tournament will take place from November 9 to November 23 in the cities of El Jadida and Casablanca, Morocco.
The opening game will feature DR Congo’s TP Mazembe and South Africa debutantes at the University of Western Cape on Saturday, November 9, at 15h00 local time (1400 GMT).
Later, hosts ASFAR will face Senegal’s Aigles de la Medina at 1800 local time (1700 GMT). Both games will be held at M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida.
The following day, Group B matches will include title holders Mamelodi Sundowns against Egypt’s FC Masar and CBE of Ethiopia against Nigeria’s Edo Queens.
All 16 matches will be played between the two venues, with the final scheduled to take place in El Jadida on Saturday, November 23.
