The Enachioken of Abiriba Ancient Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Eze Kalu K. Ogbu (IV), has publicly denounced claims that his community supports or harbors members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reaffirming Abiriba’s dedication to harmony and its disassociation from the group’s activities.
At the 2024 Iburu Omu ceremony, a revered tradition where the king and his council members establish laws for the next year, Eze Ogbu proudly highlighted the community’s peaceful and law-abiding reputation, underscoring Abiriba’s dedication to maintaining a stable and serene environment.
Eze Ogbu categorically stated that Abiriba has never served as a haven for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its security arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), emphasizing that the community has always cooperated with security agencies and urging the federal and state governments, as well as the public, to dismiss any contrary reports.

The Abiriba monarch, Eze Ogbu, addressing the rising concern of teenage pregnancy in the community, declared that the community would no longer tolerate pregnancy outside of wedlock.
He decreed that any individual who impregnates a woman in the community and fails to perform the traditional marriage rites would face ostracism, emphasizing the need to restore traditional values and protect the well-being of young women.
